Launched in 2022 as a spin-off company from SwissBorg (https://swissborg.com), XBorg is building a player identity protocol to drive the evolution of online experiences. It aims to revolutionise the gaming industry by allowing players to own and use their data to unlock a more personalised internet.

The XBorg ID captures data from various sources, including real-time game data, APIs, and tournament platforms to create unique player identities. Zero-knowledge proofs are used to ensure a player’s privacy. Players can use their XBorg ID in any application or game that integrates with the protocol. They can share some or all of their credentials to access personalised experiences. Enabling use cases such as fairer token airdrops, identity-based rewards and investment opportunities, new loyalty experiences, and more.

XBorg is building identity-powered fan platforms with esports teams, including Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team BDS, and more. Its infrastructure enables esports teams, brands, and games to develop applications that leverage fans' identities for more personalised experiences centred around two pillars:

- A questing system which lets fans earn credentials based on their social, gaming, and esports activity
- An avatar system which rewards fans with digital collectibles representing their fandom and providing utility

Additional XBorg applications include a launchpad integrated with the XBorg ID to provide users preferential terms and exclusive access based on their reputation, and a fan app SDK enabling brands to launch white-label applications that offer personalised fan experiences.

XBorg plans to launch its blockchain in 2025 as a hybrid layer 2 for data availability and verification and for storing, ingesting, and achieving the provenance of player data.

XBG is their native utility and governance token that is used for:

- Payments: XBorg-powered apps use XBG as payment options for businesses or users.
- Governance: XBG grants holders the power to vote on ecosystem, product and token developments.
- Gas Token: The XBG token will be used as the gas token for the XBorg Blockchain.
- Incentives & Revenue Share: XBorg revenue will be sent to a reward pool providing yield to XBG stakers, weighted by ecosystem contribution.
